End of Year Report

Colorado College’s policies prohibiting sexual misconduct provide that this report be in general, non-identifying terms.
1. During the 2007 calendar year, there were four (4) formal complaints filed under the Student Sexual Misconduct Policy, in which a student complained of sexual misconduct by another student. Additionally, there was one (1) formal complaint brought by the college under the Student Sexual Misconduct Policy, as well as one (1) formal complaint brought under the staff/faculty policy. Violation of policy was substantiated in all investigations.
2. Fifty (50) individuals presented for services through the Office of Sexual Assault Response and Prevention. Forty-six (46) were students, and four (4) were staff or faculty members. The Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) had Seventy-seven (77) in-person client contacts and thirty-six (36) phone contacts with these individuals. The SARC also provided fourteen (14) advocacy sessions for judicial, legal, or Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) processes.
• Twenty-three (23) individuals presented with complaints of current/recent incidents of sexual misconduct, while six (6) presented with complaints of historical events which were currently creating difficulties for them. Seventeen (17) individuals presented as supporters of survivors. Four (4) individuals were respondents to formal complaints.
• Of the current/recent events, there were eighteen (18) complaints of on-campus events, and five (5) complaints of off-campus incidents.
• Six (6) of those presented with current or recent experience of rape or sexual assault
• One (1) presented with current or recent experience of intimate partner violence
• Ten (10) presented with current or recent experience of harassment or stalking
• One (1) of the recent/current sexual assaults reported above appeared to be drug facilitated.
3. Nineteen (19) campus-wide educational programs were sponsored by SARP, with an attendance of 1,631. The SARC also conducted twenty-one (21) trainings for staff, faculty, and student groups, with an attendance of 755.
