spare time activities:
I spend most of my spare time listening to and finding new music; playing guitar by myself or with friends; reading news from various sources; thinking of things I’d like to do soon; taking a good hike in the mountains; talking to friends; and skiing.
favorite class at CC:
This is such a hard question to answer, and I think it is really an unfair question when you go to CC. My favorite classes are always the ones with unique experiences and really hands-on learning. The problem is that this happens in a majority of classes I take.
If I had to choose though, I would say that my favorite class to date was Business, Policy, and Strategy with Van Skilling and Julie Chesley. What made this class stand out were the guest speakers. We had top executives from major companies visit and speak to us: namely, John Flemming, the Chief Merchandizing Officer at WalMart, and Phil Condit, the former CEO of Boeing. It was incredible to talk about policy and strategy and at the same time see and hear about it from those types of people.
study abroad location:
I am going abroad to China for the spring semester 2009. I have yet to find out whether I will be placed in Shanghai or Beijing.
internship experience:
I was an intern for Clear Channel Colorado, 850 KOA Sports Department. I was contributing ideas and finding sound bites for sportscasts; editing those sound bites for on air sportscasts; covering professional sports practices and games; interviewing coaches and players at those practices and games; and helping on air personalities with any other task they needed. Throughout the summer I covered a handful of Colorado Rockies baseball games, the Denver Nuggets NBA Draft night at the Pepsi Center, as well as multiple Denver Broncos preseason training camp practices. I have one-on-one interviews on tape with MLB players such as: Jeff Francis, Jake Peavy, and Brian Fuentes. I also have one on-one interviews on tape with NFL players Keary Colbert and Eddie Royal.
most memorable block break:
My most memorable block break was the one that I traveled to Missoula Montana to visit friends. We spent the time hiking and exploring Missoula. What made is so memorable was being able to see friends who were far away in the middle of a semester.
