Favorite quote:
“I am an invisible man. I am a man of substance, of flesh and bone, fiber and liquids – and I might even be said to possess a mind. I am invisible, understand, simply because people refuse to see me.”—Ralph Ellison, Invisible Man (my absolute favorite book)
Campus activities:
Relay for Life Planning Committee, AppreCCiate, Asian-American Student Union, Student Ambassadors, Student Venture Partnership, Court Appointed Special Advocates, Senator Michael Bennet Intern
Spare time activities:
I love watching movies with my friends, because I was very movie-uncultured in high school. Recently, I have found an immense love for baking goodies, creating art and crafts projects (recently I made a Jet Pack and paper mache pineapple!), napping outside (when it’s warm) and cleaning my dirty room three times a block.
Favorite CC class:
I've loved most of my classes at CC. This is such a special school where students can be immersed in their studies and experience their learning in a whole different way. CC, in general, offers amazing classes. BUT, If I HAD to pick one, it would be Inequality (a sociology course) with Professor Jeff Livesay. This class explored the micro- and macro-understandings of social stratification. This class blew my mind away. It sparked my interest in wanting to further study social theory (weird, I know). Also, this was THE class that made me want to declare my major in Sociology.
Favorite CC Professor(s):
This is impossible, so I'll just list the professors who stand out the most. Charlotte Mendoza in the Education Department, CJ Pascoe in the Sociology Department, Eileen Bresnahan in the Feminist and Gender Studies Department, Jeff Livesay in the Sociology Department, Susan Ashley who is the Dean of the College (and History Department), and Tip Ragan in the History Department. Each of these professors has influenced the way I think about myself and society. My opinions and ideas were either reaffirmed, changed or conflicted. I can't stress how much I love professors from CC.
Plans for study abroad:
I was able to study abroad in Paris the summer after my Freshman year. Susan Ashley and Tip Ragan made this course incredibly challenging, but so worth it. Class discussion blew me away.

However, I plan to study abroad again the fall semester of my Junior Year. I'm thinking maybe Chicago... Stay tuned to find out.
Most memorable block break:
I really love staying on campus. I can recollect my sanity after a rigorous block, aide at the local high school, and work at my internship. I'm such a homebody.
